Liposuction .

Liposuction surgery is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body to improve its contour and shape. This procedure is not intended for weight loss but rather for body sculpting and achieving a more proportionate appearance.

Fat accumulates in problem areas of the body: on the waist, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, upper arms, cheeks, chin. Even people who work out and eat healthy cannot remove these fat deposits. In such cases, liposuction can help to improve body shape and regain self-confidence. Liposuction is special in that fat cells do not regrow in the areas from which the fat is removed – if the patient gains weight, new fat would evenly distribute throughout the body.

FAQ.
01 / How to prepare for a liposuction?

Before the operation, the plastic surgeon and the patient discuss the problem areas of the body, medications, existing diseases, and allergies, the patient is also instructed on the scope and risks of the operation. In some cases, losing weight before the surgery might be recommended.

02 / How is liposuction performed?

Liposuction is usually performed under general anaesthesia, except for liposuction of small areas, for which a local anaesthesia is sufficient. The surgery takes 1-3 hours.

03 / Postoperative care?

Subcutaneous bruising and swelling, that disappear within 1-2 weeks, may occur in areas where fat is removed. Postoperative scarring is minimally visible since the incisions are made in inconspicuous areas and are small.
