Foot drop - tendon transfer.
Foot drop surgery, also known as posterior tibial tendon transfer or tendon transfer surgery, is a procedure performed to address the condition known as foot drop. Foot drop is a weakness or paralysis of the muscles that lift the front part of the foot, leading to difficulty in lifting the foot and toes while walking. This condition can result from various causes, such as nerve injury, muscle disorders, or neurological conditions. The surgery aims to restore normal function to the foot by rerouting a healthy tendon to replace the non-functioning or weakened tendon.
